An Investigation of Kofuku in Modern Japanese Philosophy of Nishida Kitaro

Abstract

The aim of this research is to systematically study Nishida Kitaro’s primary source document in order to investigate a conception namely Kofuku based on Nishida’s philosophical argumentation. The finding of this research
shows that Nishida presented Kofuku via the issues of reality, goodness, and religion. As a result, the conclusion of this work can be given as following. (1) Kofuku, by mean of reality, is the suffering and happiness as the unity of
life. (2) Kofuku, by mean of goodness, is the desire for ideal of being good. and (3) Kofuku, by mean of religion, is the manifestation of religious experience becoming a part of live.
