This article constructed a conceptual framework using the expectation confirmation model (ECM), technology acceptance model (TAM), and unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT), to investigate the factors impacting satisfaction and continuance intention of MOOCs learning among medical students. Structural equation modeling is used to evaluate the model using data from a survey with 500 medical students in Chengdu, China. The results showed that the proposed theoretical model can explain the causal relationship between factors very well. Task-technology fit, perceived usefulness, and facilitating conditions are important determinants of students’ satisfaction, furthermore, satisfaction plays a vital role in motiving or influencing medical students’ continuance intention of MOOCs learning. It is recommended that the MOOC platform should focus on improving task-technology fit, perceived usefulness, facilitating conditions and satisfaction toward medical students’ MOOCs learning, the education institutions ought to strengthen medical students’ interaction by establishing various online learning communities in MOOCs. The findings provide a reference model for future research toward impacting factors of MOOCs learning and contribute to improving the teaching management of MOOCs in local medical colleges.
Renyuan Zheng, Somsit Duang-Ek-Anong, Qizhen Gu, Paitoon Porntrakoon Copyright (c) 2024 Local Administration Journal https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://so04.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/colakkujournals/article/view/272592 Fri, 27 Sep 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Let Us Achieve Our Goal: Movement for Sustainability of Thai Youth in Higher Education Institutions https://so04.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/colakkujournals/article/view/269410
At present, Thai society has been awakened to the importance of sustainability. Higher education institutions, in their capacity as important social entities that create an awakening society in the twenty-first century, are the main mechanisms to motivate sustainability in their people ranging from high ranked administrators to students. Three communities along the railway in Khon Kaen Municipality were purposefully selected using qualitative research methods, focusing on phenomena that demonstrate the communities’ potential to address the issue of food security. The total number of key informants was 30. Content analysis and the triangulation method were employed to ensure coherence between the data. The study's findings indicate that urban low-income households require a greater understanding of nutrition to help meet their dietary needs. Inadequate income for daily sustenance necessitates adjustments that reduce the quantity and quality of food, leading to health issues and frequent illnesses. As a result, urban low-income households depend on natural food sources, self-produced food, and food provided through aid to reduce food costs. They received support from community leaders with networking skills and experience in developing skills and knowledge. This assistance led to the creation of support networks for food availability. These networks included internal community networks formed through informal relationships and external networks established by organizations and agencies authorized to promote and support urban low-income households. Therefore, policies should support the provision of nutrition and food consumption knowledge to urban low-income households. Additionally, safe and affordable food markets for urban low-income individuals should be established, resulting from collaborative networks across all sectors to ensure access to quality and safe food for low-income urban households.
Nisarat Aunchanthee, Aphiradee Wongsiri, Buapun Promphakping Copyright (c) 2024 Local Administration Journal https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://so04.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/colakkujournals/article/view/271167 Mon, 30 Sep 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Network Building and Potential Development for Cashew Nut Online Business Entrepreneurs in Communities along the Lamsebok Economic Geography Route, Ubon Ratchathani Province https://so04.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/colakkujournals/article/view/271152
The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the general conditions and potential of the cashew nut community along the Lamsebok economic geography route, 2) to examine the network building among the Lamsebok cashew nut community in Ubon Ratchathani Province,
3) to develop the community's potential to become online entrepreneurs in the Lamsebok cashew nut business, and 4) to evaluate participation and summarize lessons learned from network building and potential development in becoming entrepreneurs. A mixed-methods research approach was employed, with the quantitative research utilizing a survey questionnaire administered to a sample of 81 respondents. Quantitative data analysis involved the use of descriptive statistics, including frequencies, percentages, means, and standard deviations. For the qualitative research component, interviews and focus group discussions were conducted with 14 key informants, and the data were analyzed through content analysis. The findings were as follows 1) The study revealed the community’s living conditions related to the production, processing, and distribution of cashew nuts, which included the community group’s status, operational conditions, challenges, and an analysis of the environment and community potential. This process enhanced the community’s self-awareness, understanding of their environment, and appreciation of the community’s value. 2) The network of the Lamsebok cashew nut community was built through four processes: stimulating group consciousness, analyzing the network's status, formulating strategies, and implementation. 3) The community's potential was developed to become online entrepreneurs in the Lamsebok cashew nut business, which involved two main factors: internal and external. 4) The overall evaluation of network member participation indicated a moderate level of involvement. The lessons learned from network building and potential development revealed challenges and approaches to development, divided into three stages: preparation, establishment, and network operation, as well as the key factors contributing to the network's success.
Malinee Srimaitree, Krittayamon Thanisphong, Woranuch Kuuttha Copyright (c) 2024 Local Administration Journal https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://so04.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/colakkujournals/article/view/271152 Mon, 30 Sep 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Innovation in Community Waste Management and Environmental Development of Phang Ken Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Ubon Ratchathani Province https://so04.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/colakkujournals/article/view/269977
This research examines the innovations in community waste management by the Phang Ken Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO), Na Tan District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, focusing on waste management and environmental development using a qualitative research approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and group discussions with 30 participants, including leaders and personnel from the Phang Ken SAO, village headmen, and volunteers from Phang Ken Subdistrict. The research findings reveal that the innovations in community waste management at Phang Ken SAO can be divided into three phases: (1) Awareness-Raising Phase (2009-2013): Addressing the problem of overflowing garbage in the communities, which led to the initiation of the innovative concept of "no pits, no bins, no cars, and no garbage collectors"; (2) Community Integration Phase (2014-2018): Implementing participatory waste management based on the 3Rs-Pracharat principles; and (3) Innovation Development Phase (2019-2023): Advancing towards a clean and sustainable Phang Ken by developing innovative processes, methods, and mechanisms, with the SAO collaborating with network partners in waste management and environmental development. Additionally, the participatory waste management approach under the "no pits, no bins, no cars, and no garbage collectors" concept, based on the 3Rs-Pracharat principles, has successfully reduced waste by 80%, resulting in a cleaner, more livable community environment. The environmental performance of the Phang Ken SAO has gained significant recognition, leading to awards and the organization's establishment as a model for community waste management and learning.
รศ.ดร.อรทัย เลียงจินดาถาวร Copyright (c) 2024 Local Administration Journal https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://so04.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/colakkujournals/article/view/269977 Mon, 30 Sep 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Guidelines for Resolving the Cross-Border Haze Problem in Chiang Rai Province through a Chiang Rai-Yunnan “Sister City” Cooperation Framework https://so04.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/colakkujournals/article/view/269756
The haze issue in Chiang Rai Province has persisted for several years, exacerbated by both local and transboundary air pollution. Efforts under the ASEAN Agreement on Transboundary Haze Pollution (AATHP) have proven insufficient in adequately addressing the problem. China, particularly Yunnan Province, has been recognized for its effective policies and measures to mitigate transboundary haze. This article aims to investigate China’s policies and strategies—specifically in Yunnan Province—for mitigating haze problems and to provide insights for resolving the transboundary haze issue in Chiang Rai Province. The study emphasizes the use of collaborative frameworks, facilitated through Sister City cooperation, to address haze issues by leveraging existing relationships and favorable geopolitical conditions. The research is conducted using documentary research methods, involving the collection and analysis of relevant documents to draw conclusions. The results indicate that the problem can be addressed through three approaches: 1) promoting knowledge exchange among public sectors and citizens, 2) strengthening Thai-Chinese cooperation to negotiate with Laos and Myanmar, and 3) establishing collaborative frameworks on specific issues, including the consideration of legally binding implementations.
Pornpawis Lhapeerakul, Charinya Limprapuwiwattana Copyright (c) 2024 Local Administration Journal https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://so04.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/colakkujournals/article/view/269756 Mon, 30 Sep 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Taxpayer Satisfaction and the Efficiency of Land and Building Tax Collection in Nongtad Subdistrict Municipality, Buriram Province https://so04.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/colakkujournals/article/view/270377
This research aims to study taxpayer satisfaction and its impact on the efficiency of land and building tax collection in Nongtad Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang Buriram District, Buriram Province.
