Development of Community Potential with English by Temple as Centered

Abstract

The purposes of the study on the development of community potential with English by temple as centered are 1) to study the pattern of Rongwai community potential by English skills. 2) To develop and convey the knowledge form in English and increase the potential of Ban Rongwai community. This research is a qualitative research. The key informant is 20 people of the monk, the novice, and the villager at Rongwa village, Chiangrai province (Purposive Sampling) and the research tool is structured interview and focus group.


The research found that in the overview of Ban Rong Wai Community Learning Center. There are many community members interested in learning English. The English community development model is divided into 5 parts that consist of Part 1 Teaching and Learning, There is a set of English language knowledge for communication. Part 2 Networking, there is an opening for volunteers to apply for foreigners as speakers. Part 3 Strong community, community members regularly participate in activities. Part 4 Buddhist communities; there is a campaign to preserve the village 5. Part 5 against drug community, the community have integrated the prevention of drug problems between communities, schools and establishments. In the issue of development and transmission of the potential of the English language community using the temple as a center, it was found that, the result is quite consistent, that all parties agree that knowledge management should be handled with English language skills for the community seriously. Especially, In terms of teaching English as a primary followed by the Buddhist way of life and against drug community because, community members were aware of the importance of using English for communication in all 4 skills and maintaining the precepts of people in the community that will result in a strong community and far away from drugs However, the Buddhist lifestyle Therefore is an important part in strengthening the network of communities, houses, temples and schools to be strong.
