The Centenary of the Russian Revolution 1917-2017

Abstract

The year 2017 marks the centenary of the historical world events of 1917, which began with the February Revolution in Russia and culminated in October with "ten days that shook the world" the overthrow of the provisional government. The Bolshevik Party seized political power under the leadership of Vladimir Lenin and Leon Trotsky. The October Revolution marked the beginning of a world socialist revolution and provided political inspiration for revolutionary struggles in the twentieth century that swept across the globe.
