Information Behavior of Historians : Information Services Framework for Archivists and Librarians

Abstract

This article presents the literature review of historians' information behavior which includes ten activities : starting, chaining, browsing, differentiating, extracting, verifying, monitoring, accessing, networking and information-managing. An overview of historians' information behavior characteristics led to recommendations for archivists and librarians on how to improve information systems and services for historians.
