ขณะที่วารสารฉบับที่อยู่ในมือทุกท่านกำลังจะได้รับการเผยแพร่ สังคมไทยได้สูญเสียนักวิชาการคนสำคัญที่ทำงานมุ่งมั่นสร้างสันติภาพและความเป็นธรรมในสังคมไทยและสังคมโลกไปอย่างน่าเสียดาย ตลอดชีวิตของ ศาสตราจารย์ ชัยวัฒน์ สถาอานันท์ ท่านได้อุทิศงานค้นคว้าวิจัยเพื่อลดความรุนแรงและการเอารัดเอาเปรียบทางสังคมอย่างไม่ลดละด้วยทัศนะแห่งสันติภาพเชิงวิพากษ์เชื่อมโยงกับปรากฏการณ์ทางสังคม กล่าวให้ถึงที่สุด ศาสตราจารย์ ชัยวัฒน์ สถาอานันท์ เป็นนักวิชาการที่ไม่เคยเอาตัวเองออกจากความอยุติธรรมและความเป็นไปของสังคมเลยแม้แต่น้อย คุณูปการทางวิชาการของศาสตราจารย์ชัยวัฒน์ ต่อการลดความเหลื่อมล้ำ สร้างความเป็นธรรมทางสังคม คือ การพยายามจะคลี่ให้เห็นชั้นของความรุนแรงอย่างละเอียดใส่ใจและชื้ให้เห็นแหล่งหลบซ่อนของความเหลื่อมล้ำ ความอยุติธรรมเชิงโครงสร้างและวัฒนธรรมในหลายมิติซึ่งน้อยคนนักจะมองเห็น เช่นซ่อนอยู่ใน “ย่างศพทารก” (ชัยวัฒน์ สถาอานันท์, 2539ข) นอกจากนี้ ยังมี “หน้ากากอยุติธรรม” ที่คอยปิดซ่อนเอาไว้อีกอย่างแนบเนียนอีกด้วย การจากไปของศาสตราจารย์ชัยวัฒน์ สถาอานันท์ จึงเป็นการสูญเสียอันยิ่งใหญ่ที่วารสารความเหลื่อมล้ำและความเป็นธรรมทางสังคมต้องบันทึกและหวนทบทวนว่าจะสานต่อการปักหมุดหมายของท่านไว้อย่างไร

Consciousness in the community development among the youth of the Mae Klong Lovers Community, Samut Songkram Province

The objective of this research is to study the level of consciousness in community development among the youth in the Mae Klong Lovers Community, Samut Songkhram Province. The study examined a sample group of 189 youths from the youth of Mae Klong Lovers Community Facebook. Data was collected between 1 January 2024 and 15 February 2024. The tool for collecting data is a questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, including means, percentages, and standard deviations, were employed for data analysis. The study found a high overall level of awareness of community development among the youth in the Mae Klong Lovers Community. Upon examination of each aspect, it was found that the youth of the Mae Klong Lovers Community have the highest level of awareness regarding economic community development, followed by the environmental, social, and cultural aspects, respectively.

Islands and Andaman Sea : Cultural Space of Urak Lawoi Koh Lipe

This article aims to explain the maritime ancestral area and territory of the Urak Lawoi of Koh Lipe, and the interpretation of ancestral territory of the Urak Lawoi of Koh Lipe by states and capital, including the demarcation of modern state-national borders and their impacts on the Urak Lawoi of Ko Lipe. The artical utilizes a concept of space emphasizing the significance of people and social. The authors collected data through participatory observation and key informant interview from June 2023 to March 2024. The study found key points: Firstly, the Urak Lawoi views maritime areas as both subsistence and cultural spaces. Secondly, the demarcation of modern state-national borderline and the interpretation of maritime ancestral territory by state and capital have affected the way of life and culture of the Urak Lawoi. Therefore, the declaration of cultural protection zones for the Urak Lawoi of Ko Lipe should giveback the rights to access to the natural resources in the ancestral areas both maritime area and islands to Urak Lawoi of Koh Lipe.

Labor Policy Responses to Ageing Society: How Thailand Achieve Human Security with Economic Growth?

While the deficit demographic has an adverse effect on the labour market, governments have generated labour policies that affect human security at work and migration. To better understand the concept of human security at work and its implementation in Thailand, this work aims to study the current labour policies in response to the ageing society, with the larger aim of assessing the policy gap and addressing the policy opportunities. The deficiency of related labour policies has caused poverty among the elderly population, a growing burden for female workers, discrimination against migrant workers and poorer support for workers with family responsibilities. Hence, these four vulnerable population groups, including female workers, migrant workers, elderly workers, and workers with family responsibility, will be affected most by labour policy responses to the ageing society. The labour policies related to these vulnerable populations will be inspected and analyzed to determine emerging concerns about human security at work.
