Internal Communication Behaviors and Perceived Organizational Support among the Employee Working Behaviors at Faculty of Medicine Khon Kaen University

Abstract

Internal communication is the process which transfers working information for working achievement. Meanwhile, perceived organization support is a factor that enables people to engage with the organization and also affect the working behaviors among employees. Thus, this study aims to determine internal communication behavior, perceived organization support level and working behaviors among employees’ at Faculty of Medicine Khon Kaen University. The Descriptive study was conducted. Sample calculation revealed 1,040 samples. Data collection using online survey which composes of 4 parts: general information, internal communication behavior, perceived organization support level and working behaviors. The tool was validity checked by content experts and the Cronbach alpha was 0.87. Statistical use was descriptive statistics such as mean, SD, 95%CI, chi-square, Odds Ratio and Pearson correlation. Respond rate was 96.05%. Most of the sample was female (87.2%), the range age between 20-37 years old, completed the bachelor degree, married, working experience over 11 years and most of the sample was working at the nursing care unit. This study found that internal communication behaviors were high level (mean 3.50, SD 0.42), perceived organization support was moderate level (mean 3.35, SD 0.69) and working behaviors was high level (mean 4.08, SD 0.46). In addition, this study also found age group, marital status, and working unit were related to working behaviors and internal communication, perceived organization support and working behaviors were positively correlated by statistically significance. This study found internal communication behaviors and working behaviors were high levels and perceived organization support was moderate level. Appropriate project development for internal communication and promote for perceived organization support, for the young generation employees by each unit of working was recommended.
