The Development of Instructional Model of Career and Technology to Enhance Creative Thinking and Crafts Skills of Prathomsuksa 4 Students.

Abstract

  The purposes of this study were to 1) study current conditions and teaching problems of Career and Technology of Prathomsuksa 4 students 2) develop instructional model of Career and Technology to enhance creative thinking and crafts skills of Prathomsuksa 4 students 3) find out the results of instructional model of Career and Technology to enhance creative thinking and crafts skills of Prathomsuksa 4 students 3.1) to find out the efficiency of instructional model of Career and Technology to enhance creative thinking and crafts skills of Prathomsuksa 4 students 3.2) to compare creative thinking of Prathomsuksa 4 students before and after using instructional model 3.3) to compare crafts skills of Prathomsuksa 4 students before and after using instructional model 3.4) to compare learning achievement of Prathomsuksa 4 students before and after using instructional model. The samples of the study were divided into 3 phrases. Phrases 1, the samples consisted of 4 Career and Technology teachers and 10 students from schools under Sriracha Municipality in semester 1 academic year 2017 selected through the purposive sampling method and creative thinking and crafts skills test of 63 students of Prathomsuksa 4 students selected through the cluster sampling. Phrase 2, the samples consisted of 36 students of Prathomsuksa 4/2 students of Bansrimaharacha Municipal School in semester 1 academic year 2017 selected through the cluster sampling. Phrase 3, the samples consisted of 36 students of Prathomsuksa 4/1 students of Bansrimaharacha Municipal School in semester 2 academic year 2017 selected through the cluster sampling. The instruments used included 1) the instructional model 2) creative thinking test 3) crafts skills evaluation 4) 30 items of learning achievement test and its difficulty indices were in the range of 0.46-0.77, discriminating indices were in the range of .25 to .80, its reliability indices was 0.91. The data were analyzed by using mean, percentage, standard deviation and t-test (Dependent Samples).
The results of the study were as follow : 1. The result of studying current conditions and teaching problems of Career and Technology of Prathomsuksa 4 students found that at present, learning activities have not been successful because teachers focused on descriptive teaching and let students followed teachers’ examples. Therefore students could not achieve their goals by stimulating their creative thinking. Teachers also emphasize students to follow teachers’ steps, not promote students to create their own ways or their new different methods. This caused the students hardly developed their creative thinking and practical skills. 2. The result of the development of instructional model of Career and Technology to enhance creative thinking and crafts skills of Prathomsuksa 4 students found that there were elements as follow : 1. principles, concepts and theories 2. objectives of model 3. teaching-learning procedures 4. social system 5. responsive principle and 6) supportive system. Teaching procedures were divided into 4 steps as follow : step 1 : warm up , step 2 : teaching and learning , step 3 : conclusion and application, step 4 : evaluation. The results of the efficiency of instructional model of Career and Technology to enhance creative thinking and crafts skills of Prathomsuksa 4 students of try-out group was 81.76/81.45 thus meeting the set efficiency criterion of 80/80. 3. The result of using instructional model of Career and Technology to enhance creative thinking and crafts skills of Prathomsuksa 4 students found that 1) the efficiency of instructional model of Career and Technology was 83.06/83.13 thus meeting the set efficiency criterion of 80/80 2) students’ creative thinking after using instructional model was significantly higher than before using instructional model at the .05 level. 3) students’ crafts skills after using instructional model were significantly higher than before using instructional model at the .05 level. 4) students’ learning achievement after using instructional model was significantly higher than before using instructional model at the .05 level.
