Abstract

        บทความ "ความเชื่อแบบบุพกาลในภูมิทัศน์วัฒนธรรม และการตั้งถิ่นฐานชุมชนชาติพันธุ์พันธุ์ม้ง บ้านนํ้าบง เมืองซำใต้ แขวงหัวพัน สาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว" เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการวิจัยในหัวข้อ “สภาพแวดล้อมทางวัฒนธรรมชุมชนม้งแบบบุพกาล กรณีศึกษาบ้านนํ้าบง และบ้านห้วยไฮ เมืองซำใต้ แขวงหัวพัน สปป.ลาว”

        สำหรับบทความนี้ ได้มุ่งศึกษาในประเด็นเรื่องสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์เหนือธรรมชาติที่ส่งอิทธิพลต่อชีวิตความเป็นอยู่ และการตั้งถิ่นฐานของกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ม้งแบบบุพกาล ซึ่งมีความเชื่อเรื่องสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์เหนือธรรมชาติ และความเชื่อความศรัทธาต่อบรรพชน แม้จะมีการเคลื่อนย้ายถิ่นฐานออกมาจากถิ่นฐานดั้งเดิมมาอย่างยาวนานก็ตาม แต่ความเชื่อเรื่องต่างๆ ของชาวม้งก็ยังคงดำเนินไปอย่างเหนียวแน่นและมีความแปรเปลี่ยนไม่มากนัก โดยเฉพาะชุมชนที่ตั้งถิ่นฐานอยู่ห่างจากศูนย์กลางการพัฒนาและการแลกเปลี่ยนวัฒนธรรมกับกลุ่มวัฒนธรรมอื่นๆเป็นไปได้ยาก เนื่องจากการเชื่อมต่อยังมีความทุรกันดาร เช่น "ชุมชนบ้านนํ้าบง" และ "บ้านห้วยไฮ" ซึ่งเป็นพื้นที่กรณีศึกษาที่ผู้วิจัยได้เลือกใช้กรณีศึกษาถึงลักษณะทางกายภาพ ซึ่งความเชื่อต่างๆ ของชาวม้งที่เกี่ยวเนื่องกับวิถีชีวิต และวัฒนธรรมโดยเฉพาะการตั้งถิ่นฐานนั้นสามารถจำแนกออกได้ดังต่อไปนี้ คือ "ความเชื่อเรื่องขวัญ" "ความเชื่อเรื่องเทพเจ้าบนสวรรค์ (ฟ้า)" "ความเชื่อเรื่องสิ่งศักดิ์เหนือธรรมชาติที่สถิตย์ในสภาพแวดล้อม" "สิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์เหนือธรรมชาติที่สถิตย์ในเรือนชาวม้ง" ซึ่งความเชื่อเรื่องสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ที่กล่าวมาข้างต้น เป็นอุดมการณ์หลักที่สำคัญที่ทำให้กลุ่มชนชาติพันธุ์ม้ง ยังดำรงวัฒนธรรมประเพณีแบบดั้งเดิมของกลุ่มชนของตนเองอย่างเหนียวแน่น และส่งอิทธิพลมายังวิถีชีวิตความเป็นอยู่วัฒนธรรมประเพณี โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการตั้งถิ่นฐาน ก่อร่างสร้างตัวกันเป็นหมู่บ้าน การจัดการพื้นที่เกษตรกรรม การจัดการพื้นที่ทางธรรมชาติ การจัดการพื้นที่แหล่งนํ้า และการสร้างเรือนของกลุ่มชนชาติพันธุ์ม้ง

        This article, “Ancient Beliefs in Cultural Landscapes and Settlement of the Hmong at Baan Nam Pong Village, Sam Tai Subdistrict, Hua Phan District, Lao PDR”, is a part of the research “Cultural Surroundings of the Hmong Based on Ancient Beliefs, Case Studies of Baan Nam Pong and Baan Huai Hai Village, Sam Tai Subdistrict, Hua Phan District, Laos PDR”.

        This article aims at studying beliefs in supernatural factors affecting and influencing lifestyles and settlement of the Hmong. Due to their ancient beliefs, supernatural factors and faith towards their ancestors still exist although they have moved to
other places. Such beliefs have been strong and have rarely changed through times, especially in remote areas where development, communication, and exchange with other groups seldom happen. Baan Nam Pong and Baan Huai Hai Village are the clear examples then they were chosen for the study because of their geographical and cultural aspects. Beliefs in settlement can be divided into “Beliefs in Kwan: the Mental State Related to Morale”, “Beliefs in Gods (in the Sky)”, “Beliefs in Supernatural Aspects in Surroundings” and “Beliefs in Supernatural Aspects in Dwellings”. The aforementioned factors are so strong that the locals still live the traditional life which can be clearly noticed in terms of ways of life, traditions, ritual, especially in settlement where management in agricultural areas, natural spaces, water supply, and housing and construction are found.
