The Guideline for Carrying on “Rum Tone” Cultural Heritage of Bua Chum Sub-district, Chaibadan District, Lop Buri Province

This research aims to 1) study the history and changes of “Rum Tone” cultural heritage of Bua Chum Sub-district, Chaibadan district, Lop Buri province, 2) establish the “Rum Tone” cultural heritage information of Bua Chum Sub-district, Chaibadan district, Lop Buri province, and 3) present the established information so as to make “Rum Tone” become local wisdom cultural heritage that can be carried on and on. The research design is that of qualitative. The instruments used are observation, in-depth interview with 23 informants, and focus group discussion of 13 experts. The findings revealed that “Rum Tone” culture of Bua Chum Sub-district local people have been passing down from generations to generations since Bua Chum was formerly an old boarder town inhabited with people. In the past there were hundreds of “Rum Tone” dance songs of Bua Chum band but now there are only about a hundred songs which are lyrically completed. Now Mr.Yuai Chantemduang is the head of the band with 80 members. As a guideline to carry on and conserve “Rum Tone” of Bua Chum Sub-district, a participation mechanism must be employed. To conserve local culture a tri-party co-ordination of community, temple and school with academic and budget supports from government, private and public sectors must take place.
