The Causal Factors in Strategy Affecting the Success of Construction Contractors in Upper Southern Thailand Towards ASEAN Economic Community

This study aimed to examine the strategies contributing to success of construction contractors in upper southern Thailand towards ASEAN Economic Community, the influence of those strategies on the success of the construction contractors in the said region, as well as the application of the strategies in business practices. The sample size was of 475 people, and questionnaires were used to collect data. The statistical analysis tool for the personal data of the sample included frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. A path analysis was deployed to study the causal factors that are influencing the variables, as well as to analyze the scale of influence in both direct and indirect path.
From the research, it has found that the level of those expressing opinions on such causal factors to the main subject at all aspects is very high. While the highest score falls upon the factor in the application of the strategies. Whereas the success factor of the construction contractors and strategic management factor are secondly and thirdly ranked in order. However, the project completion factor comes with the lowest score. As a result, the hypothesis testing has shown that the strategic management factor, strategic application factor and the success factor of the project completion are directly influencing the success of the construction contractors.
