The Development of Crispy Banana Product as a Community Enterprise at Sop Poeng, Mae Taeng, Chiang Mai

The purposes of this research were: 1) to study a packaging format suitable for the crispy banana product; and 2) to develop trademark and packaging label for crispy banana product. The research area was Sop Poeng Subdistrict’s Crispy Banana Community Enterprise in Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai Province. A mixed methods methodology was employed. The sample group included: 13 subjects who were part of the community enterprise, selected via purposive sampling; and 75 consumers were who selected via convenience sampling method. Research instruments included surveying forms, questionnaires and interview protocols.
The results are as follows. 1) The appropriate format for the crispy banana and herb products should contain the product’ s name, logo, details, pictures, ingredients, quantity or volume, and details about legal regulations. The packaging should provide safety for the contained product and preserve its quality. It should also represent the product’s identity and creativity to build recognition and also draw the public attention to understanding of meaning and benefits of the product. 2) The developed packaging of crispy banana and herb products is consisted of trademark, label, and the new form of packaging itself with the zipper on top which prevents air from getting inside to contaminate with the product. This helps lengthening the life of the product for a long time. The product which is not eaten all at the same time can be restored with its taste and crispness being the same. Furthermore, the product can be conveniently kept in the pocket without staining it so the product is convenient for consumption and preservation.
