Local Wisdom Diversity and the Conservation and Management of Natural Resources in the Khamuen Upstream Area in Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park, Nakhon Thai District, Phitsanulok Province

Abstract
The purposes of this study were to collect local wisdom, explore a guideline for managing the diversity of local wisdom, and establish a permanent exhibition on the local wisdom, conservation, and management of natural resources of the Khamuen upstream forest area. Quantitative data were collected from 383 participants and qualitative ones from 40 participants. Instruments for collecting the data were questionnaires and interviews. The data were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.
The results showed that among the local wisdom, the prominent handicrafts were
dip-net weaving, Mong’s pattern embroidery, Mong’s pipe or flute production, Mong’s bag weaving, Mong’s pizza, and grass flower brooms. Local wisdom management was found at a high level, with the highest mean on the conservation and management of natural resources of the Khamuen upstream forest area, and managing the diversity of the local wisdom focusing on community participation. As for the exhibition, the researchers and the Noen Phoem Sub-district Administrative Organization established a permanent exhibition of the model of local wisdom and the conservation and management of natural resources of the Khamuen upstream forest area.
