The Operations of Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University in Accordance with Education Criteria for Performance Excellence (EdPEx) in B.E. 2561: Case study

Abstract

       

This research study aimed at accomplishing the following:(1) to examine of the performance in accordance with the Education Criteria of Excellency Performance (EdPEx) and (2) to investigate the problems and obstacles being faced in operations in accordance with the EdPEx criteria at the Faculty of Dentistry of Khon Kaen University in 2018. The sample group was purposively selected and consisted of 112 individuals from 3 different departments, who were (1) teachers, (2) supporting staff members, and (3) dentists, who were involved in the operations in accordance with EdPEx criteria. The research tool, which was used, was a questionnaire that had been divided into three parts: (1) personal information, (2) a series of 5-rating scale questions about EdPEx, and (3) the problems and obstacles being faced in daily operations. A test to ensure the quality of the research tool was  conducted by three experts : Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) score was  0.67-1.00 and from the reliability test, it was found that the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 0.989. The statistics used to analyze data were percentages, averages, and standard deviations. Two results from the research were found. Firstly, with respect to the Education Criteria of Excellency Performance (EdPEx), the overall was found to be at high level. except for Category Six, the Operational System, which was found to be at the medium level. Secondly, the problem and/or the obstacle, which was discovered, was that some members of the staff remained unaware of the application of the evaluation results to improve themselves.
