Research and Development of Teacher Preparation System to Enhance Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge: Socio-scientific Issues and Good Agriculture

Abstract

This research aimed to study the effect of Bringing learning management to enhance technological pedagogical content knowledge : socio-scientific issues and good agriculture to be used during the teaching professional experience of general science students. using research and development model. The 15-week science learning management course consisted of 37 student teacher, and three student teacher who volunteered to participate in the research. The researcher uses purposive sampling. Tools used include learning management plan that focuses on activities, competencies, knowledge, content, combined with teaching methods and technology by using socio-scientific issues for safe agriculture semi-structured interview form and the competency assessment form, knowledge, content, combined with teaching methods and technology. Teaching competency assessment that emphasizes TPACK learning management using scientific issues and a safe agricultural society. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and qualitative data were analyzed by content analysis. The results showed that most of the student teacher, 26 people, representing 70.30 percent, had competency at a high level. on the following issues I have always been able to relate the relationship between scientific ideas and social issues and everyday life. I can adjust my learning method appropriately when students do not understand. I can choose the style of learning management. To promote the learning of students in science effectively. I can use technology to organize science learning, respectively. The teaching of the three student teachers revealed that teaching competencies focused on organizing TPACK learning using scientific issues and agricultural safety society. Among the evaluation items in order of the highest average scores including selecting media technology that is appropriate for the content. Selecting technology media that is appropriate for teaching strategies and selecting social issues related to science, respectively, with items evaluating Using questions to stimulate learning of student teacher 1 had the lowest mean score (M=2.50, SD=0.42).
