Abstract

This artical analyzes the content of Phleng Yao Thawai Owat composed by Sunthon Phu to present his thoughts and fellings to his two disciples who were highly ranked princed in the royal family. The results reveal that the content represents not only Sunthon Phu's thoughts on etiquette but also his strong emotion which reflects his loyalty to the royal family, good will, and attitude to people around them. Sunthon Phu's world view as he has experienced life and his understanding of the nature of the world are also exhibited. Phleng Yao Thawai Owat is therefore didactic literature demonstrating the relationship between creative work and the poet's biography and emotions distinguishing it from other pieces of Thai didactic literature.
