Abstract

This article aims to study the ideas of Jean Bodin, a French philosopher, about sovereignty and taxation by examining his important written in socio-economic, wisdom and political contexts. His ideas significantly influenced the formation of modern states, especially on sovereignty. It has been also an important part of sovereignty and religious toleration debuts. Taxation by a king requires consent from his people through the parliament has also influenced
subsequent philosophers.
