การเข้าใจภาษาศาสตร์ในนิราศลอนดอน
ภาพสะท้อนการเปลี่ยนแปลงและการใช้ภาษา

บทความนี้มุ่งวิจัยความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างภาษากับความหมายในนิราศลอนดอน ซึ่งเป็นลักษณะและโครงสร้างตามยุคสมัย การเปลี่ยนแปลงทางภาษาทั้งระดับหน่วยคำวิทยา การใช้คำ และวากยสัมพันธ์ในนิราศลอนดอนเป็นสิ่งที่ท้าทายในการอ่านตีความสำหรับผู้อ่านที่ใช้หลักการทางความคิดปัจจุบันมาใช้วิเคราะห์ตัวบทอดีต โดยปราศจากการทบทวนประเด็นทางการใช้ภาษาต่างสมัย ข้อบกพร่องนี้แก้ไขได้โดยการนำแนวคิดทฤษฎีทางภาษาศาสตร์เชิงประวัติมาร่วมพินิจพิจารณา ในที่สุดเกิดเป็นสหวิทยาการในโลกวิชาการและวิจัย นั่นคือ ภาษาศาสตร์เชิงวรรณกรรม แม้มีการใช้ภาษาศาสตร์ในงานวิจัยนี้ แต่การเรียงลำดับความคิดที่นำเสนอเป็นแนวทางของวรรณกรรมศึกษา เพื่อให้เห็นถึงการประสานระหว่างสาขาวิชา และอธิบายปรากฏการณ์แต่ละประเด็นด้วยวิธีการพรรณนาวิเคราะห์ร่วมกับการโต้แย้งทางแนวคิด ผลวิเคราะห์แบ่งเป็น 2 ลักษณะ คือ 1) ลักษณะทางภาษาที่เปลี่ยนแปลง ได้แก่ การใช้คำศัพท์กับความหมาย รวมถึงไวยากรณ์บางโครงสร้าง เมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับปัจจุบัน และ 2) ลักษณะทางเนื้อหาที่แสดงวิถีกับความคิดทางวัฒนธรรมที่สัมพันธ์กับการใช้ภาษา ทั้ง 2 ลักษณะมีความสัมพันธ์ที่สะท้อนการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางภาษากับโลกชีวิตผ่านนิราศลอนดอน
