มุ่งเน้นบริบทภาษาแม่จะชี้ให้เห็นความสัมพันธ์เชิงบวกระหว่างสภาพแวดล้อมภายในบ้านกับพัฒนาการด้านภาษาและการรู้
หนังสือของเด็ก แต่ยังขาดกรอบแนวคิดส าหรับอธิบายการเรียนรู้ภาษาอังกฤษภายในครอบครัวในบริบท EFL บทความนี้
มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อทบทวนวรรณกรรมที่เกี่ยวข้องและน าเสนอกรอบแนวคิดสภาพแวดล้อมการเรียนรู้ภาษาอังกฤษที่บ้าน
(Home English Literacy Environment: HELE) ซึ่งอธิบายความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างปัจจัยด้านความรู้และภาษา ปัจจัย
ด้านอารมณ์และแรงจูงใจ ปัจจัยเชิงโครงสร้างและบริบท กิจกรรมและปฏิสัมพันธ์ทางภาษาในครอบครัว และผลลัพธ์
ด้านภาษาและการรู้หนังสือของเด็ก กรอบแนวคิดนี้สามารถใช้เป็นแนวทางในการศึกษาวิจัย การพัฒนาเครื่องมือวัด
และการออกแบบการสนับสนุนผู้ปกครองร่วมกับหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องเพื่อส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้ภาษาอังกฤษของเด็กในบริบท
