ผู้หญิงกับอุปลักษณ์สัตว์: มุมมองจากแนวคิดการวิเคราะห์วาทกรรม ตามวิถีการปฏิสัมพันธ์

บทความนี้เป็นบทความวิชาการที่มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่ออธิบายและอภิปรายให้เห็นถึงการใช้อุปลักษณ์ผู้หญิงกับสัตว์เกิดขึ้นจากการปฏิสัมพันธ์ของคนในสังคม ซึ่งถูกห้อมล้อมด้วยบริบทอันเกี่ยวโยงกับค่านิยม ความเชื่อ อุดมการณ์ และอำนาจที่ไม่เท่าเทียมกัน มุมมองของผู้เขียนที่นำเสนอในบทความนี้เป็นข้อคิดเห็นที่อ้างอิงตามแนวคิดการวิเคราะห์วาทกรรมการปฏิสัมพันธ์ของคนในสังคม ซึ่งมีนักทฤษฎีกลุ่มหนึ่งได้เสนอแนวทางไว้ แต่มิได้มีการอภิปรายด้วยหลักฐานการใช้ภาษาในเชิงอุปลักษณ์ให้เห็นอย่างชัดเจนมากนัก บทความนี้จะอธิบายครอบคลุมอุปลักษณ์ทั้งสองแบบ ทั้งที่เป็นแบบมโนอุปลักษณ์ที่แสดงออกด้วยการใช้ภาษาข้ามขอบเขต ในที่นี้ คือ ขอบเขตระหว่างคนกับสัตว์ โดยเจ้าของภาษาไม่ได้รู้สึกว่ามีการเปรียบเปรยอย่างชัดเจนในการพูด เนื่องจากมีการใช้เป็นลักษณะภาษาทั่วไปในชีวิตประจำวัน และอุปลักษณ์แบบสำนวนสุภาษิตซึ่งในทางภาษาศาสตร์เรียกว่าอุปลักษณ์ตาย ตัวอย่างที่ผู้เขียนจะนำมาอธิบายและอภิปรายนั้นมีทั้งอุปลักษณ์ในภาษาไทยและภาษาอังกฤษ ทั้งนี้เพื่อชี้ให้เห็นถึงความแตกต่างของการใช้อุปลักษณ์สัตว์ต่างชนิดกันในการอ้างถึงผู้หญิง ซึ่งสิ่งนี้เป็นไปด้วยอิทธิพลของบริบททางสังคมและวัฒนธรรมที่มองผู้หญิงโดยมีจุดเน้นที่แตกต่างและคล้ายคลึงกันในบางส่วน

Abstract

This paper is an academic article aiming to explain and discuss the use of animal metaphors concerning women with an attempt to point out that such a metaphorical use results from interactions in society. The sociocultural context that surrounds human interactions inevitably involves social values, beliefs, ideologies and asymmetrical power. On the basis of the interactional approach to discourse which has been so far proposed by a considerable number of analysts but there have been no discussions in particular of the use of animal metaphors with reference to women, this paper, then, proposes to remedy this gap with the exemplification of both conceptual metaphors and image metaphors. The former is realized language use in everyday life by across different domains, i.e. human and animal domains in this paper. The latter is figurative language or dead metaphor in linguistics.  This paper will discuss both metaphors in Thai and English to show metaphorically view of women with similar foci as well as different foci.
