ขับเคลื่อนสู่สังคมคาร์บอนต่ำ: หนึ่งในแนวทางการจัดการวิกฤตสภาพภูมิอากาศโลก

บทคัดย่อ

     วิกฤตสภาพภูมิอากาศโลกในปัจจุบัน สร้างความเสียหายต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม เศรษฐกิจ และสังคม ทั้งยังมีความเสี่ยงทำให้ระบบธรรมชาติเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างฉับพลันและรุนแรง โดยไม่สามารถย้อนกลับสู่สภาพเดิมได้ จากความสำคัญของปัญหาดังกล่าว  บทความนี้จึงมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อนำเสนอองค์ความรู้ใน 4 ประเด็นหลัก ได้แก่ (1) หลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์ของวิกฤตสภาพภูมิอากาศโลก (2) กิจกรรมของมนุษย์ต่อความไม่สมดุลของพลังงานโลก (3) วงจรป้อนกลับเชิงบวกที่เป็นกลไกเสริมแรงเร่งวิกฤต และ (4) แนวทางการบรรเทาและรับมือกับวิกฤต โดยรวบรวมและวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลจากบทความและรายงานที่เกี่ยวกับวิกฤตสภาพภูมิอากาศโลก

     หลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์ของวิกฤตสภาพภูมิอากาศโลกที่เด่นชัดคือ (1) การเพิ่มขึ้นของอุณหภูมิเฉลี่ยบนพื้นผิวโลก (2) การลดลงอย่างรวดเร็วของพื้นที่น้ำแข็งขั้วโลก (3) การเพิ่มขึ้นของระดับน้ำทะเลเฉลี่ยทั่วโลก และ (4) การทวีความรุนแรงของสภาพอากาศสุดขั้ว ซึ่งปรากฏการณ์เหล่านี้มีสาเหตุสำคัญมาจากกิจกรรมของมนุษย์ที่ปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจก โดยเฉพาะคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์สู่ชั้นบรรยากาศมากเกินจนสร้างความไม่สมดุลของพลังงานโลก และนำไปสู่ภาวะโลกร้อนที่ทวีความรุนแรงจนส่งผลให้เกิดวิกฤตสภาพภูมิอากาศโลก โดยมีวงจรป้อนกลับเชิงบวกเป็นกลไกที่เสริมแรงเร่งให้วิกฤตรุนแรงยิ่งขึ้น สำหรับแนวทางการบรรเทาและรับมือกับวิกฤตที่สำคัญคือ การลดและกำจัดปริมาณก๊าซคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ในชั้นบรรยากาศ และการปรับตัวเพื่อรับมือกับผลกระทบของวิกฤต ผลการสังเคราะห์องค์ความรู้อย่างเป็นระบบจากบทความนี้ ถือเป็นแนวทางสำคัญในการเสริมสร้างความเข้าใจเชิงบูรณาการ และความตระหนักรู้ถึงความสำคัญของปัญหาวิกฤตสภาพภูมิอากาศโลก อันจะนำไปสู่การร่วมกันแก้ไขปัญหาอย่างยั่งยืนสืบไป
