คู่สมรสไทย-เยอรมัน: การแลกเปลี่ยนชดเชยต่างตอบแทนและการพึ่งพาซึ่งกันและกัน

บทความนี้เป็นการนำเสนอภาพของคู่สมรสไทย-เยอรมันในแง่ภูมิหลังทางสังคม-เศรษฐกิจและแรงจูงใจในการตัดสินใจแต่งงานซึ่งนำไปสู่การย้ายถิ่นผ่านการสมรส โดยอ้างอิงบางส่วนของข้อมูลและข้อค้นพบจากการศึกษาภาคสนามเพื่องานวิจัยที่ผ่านมาของผู้เขียน ซึ่งครอบคลุมช่วงเวลา 3 ทศวรรษ ได้แก่ ค.ศ. 1989 ค.ศ. 1995-1997 และ ค.ศ. 2008-2009 แม้โดยทั่วไปจะมีภาพตายตัวเกี่ยวกับคู่สมรสไทย-เยอรมันอันสืบเนื่องมาจากบริบทในการทำความรู้จักและระยะเวลาที่ค่อนข้างจำกัดในการเรียนรู้กันก่อนแต่งงาน และโดยเฉพาะแรงจูงใจในการตัดสินใจแต่งงานที่แตกต่างกัน แต่เมื่อพิจารณาข้อมูลเชิงประจักษ์จากการศึกษาของผู้เขียน ผ่านกรอบแนวคิดการแลกเปลี่ยนชดเชยต่างตอบแทน และ การพึ่งพาซึ่งกันและกัน พบว่ากระบวนการตัดสินใจแต่งงานของคู่สมรสไทย-เยอรมัน ตั้งอยู่บนพื้นฐานของการแลกเปลี่ยนชดเชยต่างตอบแทนในแง่ของความคาดหวังที่หญิงไทยและสามีเยอรมันคาดว่าจะได้รับเมื่อแต่งงานกัน และในกรณีที่ความคาดหวังดังกล่าวพัฒนาไปสู่ความสัมพันธ์ที่ต้องพึ่งพาซึ่งกันและกันระหว่างคู่สมรส ก็จะเป็นปัจจัยหนึ่งที่ทำให้คู่สมรสพึงพอใจในการใช้ชีวิตคู่และส่งผลให้ชีวิตสมรสดำรงอยู่ได้อย่างยืนยาว
