บทความนี้ มุ่งนำเสนอแนวความคิดผ่านกระบวนการออกแบบทางสถาปัตยกรรมของพิพิธภัณฑ์ที่มีแนวทางสัมพันธ์กับบริบททางประวัติศาสตร์ การขุดค้นทางโบราณคดี มาสู่การออกแบบสถาปัตยกรรมบ้านฮอลันดา เพื่อเป็นศูนย์ข้อมูลความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตระหว่างไทยและเนเธอร์แลนด์ ณ จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา ประเทศไทย กรณีศึกษานี้ได้แสดงให้เห็นถึงแนวคิดทางสถาปัตยกรรมที่เป็นการผสมผสานกันระหว่างความทรงจำที่มีต่ออาคารที่ทำการของบริษัท VOC ในคริสศตวรรษที่ 17 และความเอื้ออำนวยของสถาปัตยกรรมร่วมสมัยที่สอดคล้องกับความต้องการของการเป็นอาคารสาธารณะ และประการที่สองคือ การแสดงให้เห็นถึงวัตถุประสงค์การก่อสร้างอาคารพิพิธภัณฑ์และสิ่งแวดล้อมต่อการสร้างประสบการณ์ของนักท่องเที่ยว
