บทคัดย่อ

จากการเก็บบันทึกข้อมูลและสำรวจรังวัดสถาปัตยกรรมโดยละเอียด ร่วมกับการวิเคราะห์เปรียบเทียบสถาปัตยกรรมประเภท มณฑป ที่พบในเมืองโบราณสุโขทัยและศรีสัชนาลัย ทำให้พบข้อสังเกตถึงความไม่สมบูรณ์ทางด้านรูปแบบสถาปัตยกรรมของมณฑปวัดศรีชุมในปัจจุบัน และผลจากการศึกษาเพื่อสันนิษฐานรูปแบบดั้งเดิมของอาคารแห่งนี้อาจช่วยอธิบายได้ถึงลักษณะเฉพาะหลายประการที่สังเกตพบจากโบราณสถานแห่งนี้ด้วย

Abstract

Based on a detailed architectural survey of the monument and a comparison with other mondops in Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai, this paper explores the possibility that the Wat Si Chum mondop has been lift unfinished in its present condition. A tentative reconstitution of the originally planned shape of the building is finally propose to explain the specific observed in the monument.
