The Temple’s management for promotion of Buddhist tourism in Lamphun Province

The objectives of this research were to study and analyze the temple’s management in Lamphun province. This research was participatory action research. The samples for data collection were abbot, representative of local government organization, the president of the Cultural Council and school administrators. The study revealed that the temple’s management has developed in order to respond the Buddhist tourism for being a source of local wisdom and local identity. For the SWOT analysis, it was found that the strength of the temple was its beautiful architecture and cultural and Buddhist capital. For the weaknesses, the temple was in lack of service personnel and systematic data collection. In terms of opportunity, the 6 temples were financially supported for Buddhist tourism promotion. In terms of threat, the lack of budget for advertisement and public relations and the lack of tour guide personnel for the temple Buddhist tourism.
