The teaching management adaptation during the COVID-19 crisis: A case study of teachers in schools affiliated with the Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Administration Organization

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study the teaching management problems and adaptation of teachers in schools affiliated with the Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Administration Organization during the COVID-19 crisis, including study the recommendations for educational policy development of schools affiliated with the Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Administration Organization during the COVID-19 crisis. The key informants were director of the Office of Education, Religion and Culture 1 people, educational supervisor 1 people and school directors 12 people, totaling 14 people which were collected data by interviewing. The sample were teachers in schools affiliated with the Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Administration Organization 210 people which were collected by questionnaires.

  The results of the study revealed that the teaching management problems of teachers in schools affiliated with the Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Administration Organization during the COVID-19 crisis, overall was at a moderate level (gif.latex?x\bar{} = 2.51) and adaptation of teachers, overall was at a high level (gif.latex?x\bar{} =3.91). Recommendations from the research were 1) Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Administrative Organization should continuously formulate a policy for the development of teachers in affiliated schools in the use of online teaching programs and equipment, although the COVID-19 crisis has reduced severity; to support teachers have more skills in online teaching technology and readiness of online teaching at any time. 2) Each affiliated school should formulate a policy for teaching management adjustment to be more flexible during a crisis situation and to promote a curriculum that corresponds to the crisis situation.
