Abstract

This research aims to create knowledge, understanding, and cooperation in managing hazardous waste in Bang Kaeo Subdistrict, La-un District, Ranong Province. The research employs a participatory action research method, targeting 90 individuals, including 10 community leaders, 20 from the general public, and 30 students from schools in the Bang Kaeo Subdistrict area. The research results indicate that the residents of Bang Kaeo Subdistrict have increased their knowledge and understanding of hazardous waste management, and their cooperation in managing hazardous waste has improved. Consequently, the proper management of hazardous waste has increased. A learning center for hazardous waste management has been established within the community. This research has enabled Bang Kaeo Subdistrict to develop a hazardous waste management system through the cooperation of all sectors. Specific days and times have been designated for collecting hazardous waste from the community to be transferred to the Ranong Provincial Administrative Organization. This process allows the Bang Kaeo Subdistrict Administrative Organization, as the main responsible agency, to manage hazardous waste more effectively. The process is sustainable as it involves collaboration between the main responsible agency, community leaders, and the general public, serving as a model for other areas.
