Analysis of Contractors Who Abandon Local Administrative Organization Construction Work based on the Comptroller General’s Circular Letter

This research aims to analyze and investigate the trend of contractors who abandon the local administration organization (LAO) construction work. The population were contractors who abandon the LAO construction work total 402 projects that derived from searching for the Comptroller General’s circular letter (179 issues) from 2012 to 2016. Research Instrument was contractors' work abandonment detailed record form. The results were analyzed by descriptive statistics by percentage, simple linear regression analysis, and chi square.
This research found that sub-district administrative organization (SAO) was the most frequent form of LAO to confront with contractors' work abandonment. The study demonstrated in detail of contractors' work abandonment in SAO construction work found that the most business model of contractors' work abandonment was juristic persons whose registered capital not exceeds 1 million baht. The project value that most contractors' work abandonment was a project value not exceeds 1 million baht. The most common type of work abandoned by contractors was civil work. The project location that most contractors' work abandonment took place was the Northeast, Thailand. In terms of contractors' tendency to abandon SAO construction work, found that juristic persons whose registered capital not exceeds 5 million baht have lower tendency while a juristic persons whose registered capital not exceeds 1 million baht have higher tendency.
