Abstract

This article is a study of the use of conceptual metaphors in the presentation of MSM in Chinese translated novels. Using the concept of male homosexuality and conceptual metaphor. The objective of this study was to study the use of conceptual metaphors in how many types of images of MSM in Chinese translation novels are presented. The results showed that there were 5 conceptual metaphors of MSM in the Chinese-translated MSM novels that using conceptual metaphors, and the authors classified these conceptual metaphor of MSM into 2 aspects: 1. The use of conceptual metaphors to present negative presentation of MSM. Have four conceptual metaphors were found: 1) The conceptual metaphor showing the love of the MSM character is suffering. To present the concept that [Actions and words of MSM is a knife] 2) The love of the MSM character is a battle. To present the concept that [Male love is a battle] 3) The conceptual metaphor showing the love of MSM characters is a journey. To present the concept that [MSM love is a journey] To present the concept that [MSM love is a journey] 4) The onceptual metaphors showing MSM characters obsessed with sex. To present the concept that [MSM sexuality is fire or electricity] and [MSM sexuality is food] 2. The use of conceptual metaphors presents a positive presentation of MSM. The researcher found only one conceptual metaphor : 1) The presentation showing MSM is heat . To present the concept that [MSM is heat].
