Metaverse คือโลกดิจิทัลที่ให้ผู้ใช้สามารถสร้างและปรับแต่งสภาพแวดล้อมเสมือนจริงได้ โดยใช้เทคโนโลยี Visual Reality (VR) หรือเว็บเบราว์เซอร์ เพื่อเชื่อมต่อและสื่อสารกันในรูปแบบที่เหมือนจริง ผู้ใช้สามารถสร้างสิ่งต่าง ๆ เช่น โรงเรียนหรือสนามกีฬาใน Metaverse ซึ่งมีประโยชน์มากมายในด้านการศึกษา เช่น การเรียนรู้ร่วมกันระหว่างนักเรียนและครูจากสถานที่ต่าง ๆ โดยไม่ต้องอยู่ในที่เดียวกัน นอกจากนี้ Metaverse ยังช่วยลดความเสี่ยงจากการระบาดของโรคและภัยพิบัติ โดยให้ผู้คนสามารถมีปฏิสัมพันธ์กันได้โดยไม่ต้องเดินทาง ทำให้เกิดประสบการณ์ใหม่และเสนอแนวทางในการใช้เทคโนโลยีเพื่อพัฒนาสังคมและการศึกษาในอนาคต โดยเฉพาะในการสอนวิชาพลศึกษา ที่ต้องมีการวางแผนและประยุกต์เทคโนโลยีให้เหมาะสมเพื่อสนับสนุนการเรียนรู้แบบโต้ตอบและประสบการณ์ที่เข้าถึงได้และสมจริงยิ่งขึ้น.
