Comparison of undergraduate students' achievement measured when using and not using quizzes in the course of Map and Map Utilization Planning

This study is classroom experiment research. The researcher was a teacher in the course of Map and Map Utilization Planning. The study aims to indentify the approach of learning and teaching which is able to develop the students' learning outcomes. The students were divided into 2 groups : 1) experimental groups which quizzes assigned and 2) control groups without quizzes assigned. The results of this study show that the students in the experimental group had higher achievement than those in the control groups. Moreover, the students were highly satisfied with the teaching approach of assigning quizzes. Therefore, it can be concluded that the teaching approach with quizzes is able to enhance the students' learning outcomes.
