Abstract

The Article was to study the satisfaction, comparison of the opinions, problems, obstacles, and suggestions of the Dhamma Practice at Wat Pha Buddharam, Photharam District, Ratchaburi Province. The research methodology is the mixed methods between quantitative and qualitative research. For the quantitative research, the researcher uses the questionnaire as a tool to collect fieldwork data from 268 Buddhists, aged 18 years old and above, who have domicile in Baan Huay Taboonjan, Moo 9, Nang Kaew subdistrict, Photharam district, Ratchaburi province. The data received is analyzed by finding the frequency, percentage, average value, and standard deviation. The hypothesis is tested by T-test, F-test, and one-way ANOVA. For the qualitative research, the researcher analyzes documents and uses the interview as a tool to collect fieldwork data from 7 significant informants before analyzing the data by the technique of contextual analysis.

The research outcome finds that the satisfaction had an overall opinion at high level, the different personal factors had no different opinions, therefore reject the research hypothesis. Problems and obstacles were some areas are steep slopes, should provide ramps for the elderly and the handicapped. The Vipassana instructors are insufficient, should increase the number of Vipassana instructors to conform to the number of dhamma practitioners. The dhamma practitioners’ handbooks are inadequate, should create dhamma practitioners’ handbooks. No particular program for the dhamma practice, should create the program for dhamma practice which is separated from other missions of the temple.
