BUDDHA-DHAMMA INTEGRATION FOR PROMOTING POLITICAL AWAKENING OF YOUTHS IN NONTHABURI PROVINCE

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study Buddha-dhamma integration to promote the political awakening of youths in Nonthaburi Province. It was qualitative research. There were 20 key informants. The research tools used were an in-depth interview script, collected data from key informants, and analyzed data by content descriptive interpretation.

The research results found that political awareness should use the 4 principles of Iddhipāda to integrate as follows: 1. Chanda (satisfaction) giving importance to the democratic system, being satisfied with democracy, and having a good political attitude 2. Viriya: (perseverance), diligent in one's duties, seriously paying attention to what one wants to learn, and giving importance to political participation. 3. Chitta (caring) Knowing one's responsibilities by doing the right thing. When one wants to know something, one must search for the facts and understand them with care, including following the rules, regulations, and rules of society. 4. Vimansa (prudence) always pays attention to work, uses cause and effect analysis to seek the correct truth, commits to performing duties strictly, and looks at the goal as important by integrating it through political socialization in various areas. It will result in youth being creatively and politically aware.
