Influences of Supply Chain Factors on Performance through Resilience of Thai Automotive Parts Manufacturers under the Moderating Roles of Network Complexity and Technological Innovation
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article aimed to analyze and test the causal influence of supply chain robustness, information integration, and supply chain agility on supply chain performance, focusing on the mediating mechanism of supply chain resilience and the moderating roles of network complexity and technological innovation within the context of the Thai automotive parts industry. Data were collected from 450 executives and analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Results revealed that information integration, supply chain robustness, and supply chain agility had a statistically significant positive influence on supply chain resilience. Supply chain resilience served as a vital structural mediating mechanism in transforming resources and capabilities into enhanced performance. Furthermore, testing of moderating roles confirmed that network complexity was a negative moderator that diminished the effectiveness of resilience on performance, while technological innovation served as a positive moderator and a key driving force that strengthened this relationship under conditions of uncertainty. The new knowledge from this research confirms that the success of the Thai automotive industry in the transitional era depends on the process of capability transformation through innovation and technology to handle complex networks. This extends the scope of the resource-based view and dynamic capabilities theory to concretely cover the contextual factors of the Thai industry.
