Abstract

The objectives of this research were to 1. Evaluate the potential factors of medium and small hotel on sustainable management. 2. Study the hotel’s   sustainable management in the perspective of tourist and community. 3. Propose an approach of sustainable management for medium and small Hotel in Koh Chang. The research was a qualitative research using the In depth interview with    3 groups of stakeholder informants. They were 20 each group of medium and small hotel entrepreneurs, Thai and foreign tourists and community members by Snow Ball sampling and applied the content analysis. The research data found 1.There are active potential factors of medium and small hotel in tourist friendly and community friendly but weak potential in environment friendly. 2. The tourists data indicated that hotels have both potential factors in tourist friendly and environment friendly. Refer to community members data informed the potential factors of hotels in community friendly and hotels’ participation in community environmental activities but there is no potential factor in environmental management. 3. An approach of sustainable management for medium and small Hotel in Koh Chang 1) Environmental On-Site treatment. 2) Developing of supply chain for sustainable management. 3) Enforcement of carrying capacity regulation.
