Abstract

This research aims to 1) study the problem of reading promotion operation of schools under Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya provincial administrative organization         2) study of reading promotion operations 3) propose reading promotion guidelines using quantitative research methods. The samples of this research were 140 school directors and Thai language teachers in 25 schools under Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya provincial administrative organization selected through the Krejcie and Morgan’s table and Simple-Random Sampling. The two instruments used in collecting data were a questionnaire with the reliability of 0.93 and 09.2. The statistics used for data analysis were Percentage, Average and Standard Deviation. The results of the research were as follows: 1) The state problems of the reading promotion operations in Schools Under The Local Administrative Organization Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya were in moderate level for three sections and in low level for two sections. 2) the reading promotion operations of schools under Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya provincial administrative organization were high in all section. 3) the guidelines for reading promotion under Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya provincial administrative organization, as follows: 1) The reading promotion policy should be promoted to teachers and educational personnel, students and related persons for acknowledgment. 2) The development of teachers and educational personnel should be promoted to have knowledge and skills in libraries management to have quality. 3) Teachers and educational personnel should plan and assign the person responsible for each activity. 4) The school should use new technology for searching all data in the school library. 5) The school should encourage the teachers from each department to make lesson plan which include reading technique in the teaching and measurement.
