Abstract

This research is a descriptive research with the objective to study the level and compare the moral and ethical development of the school administrators under Petchabun Primary Educational Service Area Office 3. The population and sample were 217 school administrators of the schools under Petchabun Primary Educational Service Area Office 3 using a nonprobability sampling method, which used the specific quota and purposive sampling technique. As the information is important, therefore it is necessary to be voluntarily provided by the respondents. The research instrument was a questionnaire, which was a checklist and a 5-level rating scale. The quantitative data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and one-way analysis of variance. The research results showed that the moral and ethical development of the school administrators under Petchabun Primary Educational Service Area Office 3 in overall was at a high level. When considering each aspect, it was found that all aspects had a high level of moral and ethical development with the mean in descending order as follows: Power and prestige aspect, good personality aspect, Sangaha-vatthu 4 (Four principles of service) aspect, Iddhipada 4 (Four successful paths) aspect, and honesty/ loyalty aspect. The status of the respondents who differ in age, income, and work experience showed no different mean on moral and ethical development of the school administrators under Petchabun Primary Educational Service Area Office 3. The differences of respondents in gender showed the differences mean on moral and ethical development of the school administrators under Petchabun Primary Educational Service Area Office 3 with statistically significant differences at the level of 0.05.
