Abstract

The political networking group in Trang province was established to attain democracy and freedom for the people in Trang province with successful organization of driving activities in different forms. It, thus, plays a significant role in driving democracy. This research aimed to study the mechanisms that drive to success of the political activities network for democracy in Trang province. This research was developed as a qualitative study with deployment of an in-depth interview method. A total sample of 15 respondents was purposively selected as the key informants. This research employs a thematic analysis in interpreting interviews, categorizing responses, and concluding results as per specified objectives. As for the findings, this research reveals that the driving mechanism for success covers seven dimensions, including network management in both formal and informal settings, identity disclosure under the adherence of the willingness and consent of the members within the group, positive relationship with others in maintaining network continuity via online communication, awareness of one’s rights and the rights of others by listening and accepting the opinions of others, network monitoring and evaluation of mid-and-post activities, and network co-developers recruitment and mutual agreement with the stipulation of rules for membership to participate in the group together with an adherence to democracy and emphasis on equality in the freedom of oneself and others. This study further suggests that the political networking group in Trang province should better administer the group structure with a clear division of departmental duties accordingly.
