Abstract

This research aimed to study demographic factor and logistics activity factors affecting decision to purchase building materials from traditional trade in Chonburi province Sample group was 385 customers who previously purchased products from the traditional trade in Chonburi province. The methods for data collection were convenience sampling and questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, frequency, mean, and hypothesis testing with independent sample: t-test, one-way variance, and multiple regression analysis. The research results were found that the difference in personal factors of gender, age and average monthly income differently affected buying decisions to purchase building materials from traditional trade in Chonburi province at significance level of 0.05 which was in accordance with the hypothesis. The difference in personal factors of educational and occupation level insignificantly affect the buying decisions to purchase building materials from traditional trade in Chonburi province which was not in accordance with the hypothesis. The results for the relationship of correlation and multiple regression analysis showed that the service and communication factor (A), the transport and reverse logistics management factor (B), the inventory management and warehouse management (C) and ordering process factor (D) influenced the buying decision to purchase building materials from traditional trade in Chonburi Province (Y) and can be used to create predictive equations as follows, Y  =   0.864 + 0.135A + 0.199B + 0.261C + 0.221D  The VIF values were between 1.322 - 2.314 which were not over 10, this means the independent variables are not related and does not cause multicollinearity.
