Development of Analytical and Critical Thinking Abilities of 3rd year Students, Program in Social Studied Using Active Learning Activities

This study aimed to investigate the analytical and critical thinking abilities of 75% of students who passed 75% criteria or at a good level or more, to compare academic achievement before and after learning, and to investigate the satisfaction of the 3rd- year students, Program in Social Studies toward the Active Learning management. The population was the 3rd - year students, Program in Social Studies who studied the SS 2211302 subject with course and social studies instruction in semester 1/2020, using Active Learning activities plans, analytical and critical thinking ability test, academic achievement test and learning satisfaction assessment form as the tools used for analysis. The statistics used for research were percentage, mean (µ) and standard deviation (σ). The results of analytical and critical thinking ability measurement of total 60 students found that the students passed 75% criteria assessment of 45 students or 75.00%.The comparative results of academic achievement before and after learning suggested that the academic achievement after learning was higher than before learning. and students were satisfied with Active Learning management at a highest level (µ= 4.54).
