Abstract

The main objectives of this research are: 1).To study the role of the Royal Thai Police on political events 2). To study the problems and obstacles of political development and 3). To study the political development guidelines during the government of General Prayut Chan-ocha 2014-2019 It is a qualitative research. Interviewed 17 key informants. including a group of police officers of the Pratuan class Commissioned Police Group Senior Executive Police Group People's groups and academic groups Analyze data by interpreting inductive conclusions. The results showed that An important role in the main mission is to secure the King's royal family. His Majesty's representatives and royal guests, supervision and control and to supervise the operations of police officers under the Criminal Procedure Code. prevention and suppression of criminal acts maintaining order Public Safety and Security of the Kingdom. The development of the country and other operations to promote and support the effective performance of the police. Problems and obstacles of political development There is a problem of strengthening a political culture where solutions must be done gradually. The problem with the independence of sub-departments is that the police office is still in the form of a centralized power, resulting in absolute consolidation. And the problem of participation is problematic that there is no active participation, which in practice is still practical or has very little participation. and issues of political development The mission of police operating in the same manner as civilian agencies should be transferred. The reforms should focus on decentralization and the police organization should change its status to the provincial police. This should separate the investigation from the police or allow each agency to have its own police. without having to depend on the Royal Thai Police.
