Local Wisdom: Value Neglected by Society

Abstract

This academic article on Local Wisdom: Value Neglected by Society was conducted to present local wisdom that has been inherited for a long period of time. It has also been with Thailand as a way of life and existence, but it may be changed periodically. Currently, some parts of foreign culture, tradition, local wisdom, and way of life may be applied to Thai people, causing neglect and loss of some parts of Thai local wisdom. To reflect on the neglected value of local wisdom and build consciousness while stimulating awareness and participation in restoring, conserving, and inheriting local wisdom due to its importance as a way of life and values and the situation that Thainess and local wisdom are being neglected by the new generation, local wisdom should always be exchanged and learned as the specific knowledge and skills of each community, with different distinctive characteristics based on each area. In the event that local wisdom is not inherited, conserved, restored, and developed for the purpose of building social and spiritual value, the value of cultural heritage may be reduced and finally lost.
