Development of the Transformational Leadership of Small-Sized School Administrators under the Supervision of Phetchabun Primary Educational Service Area Office 3

This research aimed to investigate the current status, the desired status, and needs for the development of the transformational leadership of administrators of small-sized schools under the supervision of Phetchabun Primary Educational Service Area Office 3. This descriptive research collected data from 236 teachers using a 5-scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Additional data were obtained through semi-structure interviews with 5 key informants who were small-sized school administrators. Content analysis and Priority Needs Index Modified (PNI modified ) were also employed. The results revealed that 1) the current status and the desired status of the transformational leadership of small-sized school administrators in four aspects was high. The highest need was idealized influence. 2) To develop their transformational leadership, the research recommended that administrators follow the principle of good governance, having vision and clear goals and direction. In addition, the promotion of participation of all sectors, receptiveness, and effective work allocation and delegation was recommended.
