The Factors of Knowledge and Competencies that Affect to the Efficiency of Information Systems Management of the Commissioned Officers in the Royal Thai Army

Abstract

The study aimed to study the factor of knowledge and competency influencing performance efficiency in term of transparency, accuracy and precision, rapidity and performance efficiency on Information system among Royal Thai Army commissioned officers. The samples included 322 Royal Thai Army commissioned officers of finance corps, obtained by simple random sampling. The instrument for data collection was a questionnaire. The statistics for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, SD, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this research revealed that most of the respondents were males (64.3%) and females (33.7%). Most of them were aged 30-39 years (42.2%), graduated with a bachelor's degree (75.8%), held Sub Lieutenant-Captain rank (72.0%), served government service for more than 15 years (37.9 %). Overall opinion towards competency factors was at a high level. When individual aspects were considered, an aspect with the highest mean was experience skills. Overall opinion towards the respondents’ performance on accounting and financial information systems was at a high level. When individual aspects were considered, an aspect with the highest mean was accuracy, with a statistical significance level of 0.05.
