People's Participation in Organization Administration of Songkhla Municipality, Muang District, Songkhla Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were) to study the level of people's participation in the public policy process of Songkhla Municipality, Muang District, Songkhla Province; 2) to compare the people's participation in the public policy process of Songkhla Municipality, Muang District, Songkhla Province by gender, age, religion, occupation, income, education level, and length of stay in the community; and 3) to study the problems and recommendations of the people on the public policy process of Songkhla Municipality Mueang District, Songkhla Province. The population used in this research was the voters residing in Songkhla Municipality, Mueang District, Songkhla Province. The sample size was 394 people. The research instrument was a statistical questionnaire used in the research using descriptive statistic by analyzing the distribution of frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Analysis to test the hypothesis was done by using t-test and One-way ANOVA by comparing the pairwise mean by LSD method. The results showed that people's opinions on people's participation in the public policy process of Songkhla Municipality, Muang District, Songkhla Province included 5 aspects, namely, participation in planning, participation in decision making, operational participation, benefit participation, and participation in the assessment were moderate-level. The different sexes of people had no different opinions on the level of participation in public policy processes of Songkhla Municipality, Muang District, Songkhla Province overall and in each aspect (p> .05). It could be concluded that the recommendation of the people was to increase the level of people's participation in the public policy process of Songkhla Municipality.
