Abstract

This research aimed to study identity and guidelines on sustainable tourism development for the annual worship festival of the Khao Kitchakut Buddha Footprint. The historical research approach based on the qualitative research methodology was used in this study. The data were collected from documents and in-depth interviews. The findings revealed that the identity of the annual worship fair includes several procedures of merit-making, holy tales, and miracle stories of worshipping the Khao Kitchakut Buddha Footprint. The guidelines on sustainable tourism development for the annual worship festival consist of placing importance on continuous tourism activities, local tourist attractions, and products.
