The Development of Spelling Writing Skills by Using the TGT Technique Cooperative Learning Combined with the Teaching Package of Grade 4 Students

Abstract

This research were to 1) to develop a lesson plan of writing spelling by using the TGT technique cooperative learning combined with the teaching package of grade 4 students with the efficiency of 80/80 efficiency index 2) to compare learning achievements in writing spelling skill of grade 4 students before and after by using the TGT technique cooperative learning combined with the teaching package and 3) to acknowledge the students’ satisfaction towards the learning management.

The samples of this research are Prathayom 4 students at Bannongprue School, Wangthong district, Phitsanulok under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Phitsanulok 2 The research is conducted on the 2nd semester in 2022. There are 181 samples in school, which each room has 15 students by using a purposive sampling method.

The instrument used in this study were 1) 4 lesson plans of writing spelling by using the TGT technique cooperative learning combined with the teaching package 2) pre and post of achievement test 3) teaching package in writing spelling of grade 4 students 4 4) Satisfaction Survey form studying with TGT technique cooperative learning combined with the teaching package. Statistics in this research used are basic statistics, index of Item Objective Congruence: IOC, Standard Deviation, and dependent sample t – test, an efficiency of (E1/E2), difficulty index of achievement test, Discrimination Index and reliability index of achievement test

The results of this study indicated that 1) lesson plans of writing spelling by using the TGT technique cooperative learning combined with the teaching package of grade 4 students had the efficiency of 87.00/90.67 2) The result between the pretest and the posttest of studying in writing spelling by using the TGT technique cooperative learning combined with the teaching package, the post-test was higher than the pre-test at with statistical significance at the level of .05 3) the result of grade 4 students’ satisfaction toward using the TGT technique cooperative learning combined with the teaching package with an excellent level of satisfaction.
