Factors Affecting Management According to Good Governance Principles of Personnel at Nakhon Phanom University

Abstract

The objectives of this research were (1) to study the level of administrative factors and management according to the principles of good governance, (2) to compare management based on good governance principles, and (3) to examine the factors affecting management in accordance with the principles of good governance. The sample group used in this research consisted of 296 personnel from Nakhon Phanom University. The sample was selected using a simple random sampling method. The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire. Statistics used in data analysis were frequency distribution, percentage, mean and standard deviation, one-way analysis of variance, comparison table of independent t-test analysis and one way ANOVA (F-test) analysis, finding the relationship between the variables using Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple linear regressions analysis. The research results showed that (1) the level of administrative and management factors according to the principles of good governance of Nakhon Phanom University personnel, overall management was at a high level. (2) The management according to the principles of good governance of Nakhon Phanom University personnel classified by personal factors, including educational level, affiliation, personnel type, professional position, and duration of employment were significantly different at the .05 level, and personal factors such as gender, age, and monthly income were not different.

(3) Administrative factors affecting management according to the principles of good governance of Nakhon Phanom University personnel were at the statistical significance level of .05, sorted from the variables affecting the variation in the dependent variables in a standardized form from the highest to the lowest were as follows: Organizational Culture (Z4 Beta = .730) Organizational Strategy (Z3 Beta = .522), and Organizational Structure (Z2 Beta = .217). (4) Guidelines and suggestions for management according to the principles of good governance of Nakhon Phanom University personnel, namely the university should promote the performance of duties with transparency, honesty and accountability. The performance of duties has been defined with a clear, complete, up-to-date government action plan, allocating human resources to suit the structure. Assigning duties to personnel with knowledge and ability for performing their duties efficiently and effectively, using modern equipment in performing their duties, decentralizing to reduce operational procedures and encouraging personnel to advance in positions by updating laws and regulations to be up-to-date and practical.
