The purposes of this research were 1) to study mathematics learning achievement of mathayomsuksa five students on sequence and series by using Active Learning GPAS 5 STEPs and 2) to study mathematics ability in solving problems of mathayomsuksa five students on sequence and series by using Active Learning GPAS 5 STEPs. The sample in this research was 36 mathayomsuksa five students of one classroom, who were studying in the second semester of the academic year 2022. The sample was selected by using cluster random sampling from 14 classrooms at Thanyarat school. The instruments used in this research were 1) 7 mathematics lesson plans on sequence and series by using Active Learning GPAS 5 STEPs, 2) 20 items with four multiple choices of mathematics learning achievement tests, and a test of ability to solve mathematical problems that was a subjective exam to demonstrate concepts and methods in detail for 4 items. Mean, standard deviation, percentage and t-test were used for analyzing data.
The research findings revealed that 1) most of the students had learning achievement in mathematics on sequence and series after receiving the learning management by using Active Learning GPAS 5 STEPs were higher than 60% at the .05 level of significance and 2) the students had mathematical problem solving ability on sequence and series after receiving the learning management by using Active Learning GPAS 5 STEPs were higher than 60% at the .05 level of significance.
