The Effects of House Chore Activities on Self-Awareness of Young Children

Abstract

The objective of this study was to study the effects of house chore activities on self-awareness in young children.  The target group was 16 of 5-6 years-old children, studying in K3, 2nd semester, the academic year of 2019, Wat Buakaew Kesorn community school (Worapong Anukul), under the Office of Pathum Thani Primary Educational Service Area, Region 1, Lat Lum Kaeo district Pathumthani province. The research equipment consisted of 1) 20 plans for learning activities using housework activities, 2) an assessment form of self-awareness behaviors in young children; and 3) A notetaking of self-aware behavior in young children.  Data was analyzed by mean, standard deviation and content analysis

             The results showed that young children had better self-awareness after receiving house chore activity provision.  They dared to give opinions and do activities in various situations.  In addition, they spoke clearly, not shy to speak out.  They were able to choose the favorite activities and the reasons for what they chose.
